Refer to our CAD image for stem top and bolt-on dimensions. We start with a much thicker walled 4130 chromoly sleeve and profile CNC machine the ID to reduce distortion with added support to the bump stop body. We then laser weld the top cap into the sleeve to finish it off. The laser welding process ensures maximum weld penetration with minimal warping or HAZ. We did extensive comparative strength testing compared to standard TIG welding and the laser welding process was significantly stronger withstanding much higher loads. This attention to detail is done so the bump stops slip-in correctly after you’re done welding the cans to your custom mounts or chassis.
